HOW DO I SIGN UP MY PORCH?

Porch signups open Monday, January 6th!

HOW DO I SIGN UP TO PERFORM?

Porches are in charge of their own lineups. We suggest joining and posting to the Friends of Tower Porchfest Facebook group to connect with porches who might host you.

WHAT IS TOWER PORCHFEST?

The Tower Porchfest is a grassroots community music event in Fresno, California where front porches become stages, yards become venues, and radical generosity and good will rule the day. The mission of Tower Porchfest is to build community through music and art.

Tower Porchfest is much more an afternoon of coordinated yard performances than it is a conventional festival. Everything you see, eat, or experience exists only because someone decided to step up and make it happen. All of our day-of operations and oversight gets delegated to our hundreds of volunteering neighbors and thousands of guests, making every porch, porch host, performer, vendor and attendee a de facto co-creator and real-time manager of the event. The organizing committee, such that it is, exists only to manage basic front-end and day of logistics, coordinate performances, promote the day, and provide communication to all involved in support of a safe and successful day.

WHERE DOES IT TAKE PLACE?

Tower Porchfest takes place in the Historic Tower District neighborhood in Fresno, California. Made up of an incredible array of classic housing types – ranging from granny flats, townhouses, and apartments to craftsman bungalows and mansions. The residents and business owners have a unified sense of pride and ownership in the entire district that makes The Tower a true neighborhood and one of the safest areas in Fresno. The event boundaries are for porches located within Fruit to Blackstone and Belmont to Shields.
Our event is spread across the entire neighborhood, filling roughly three square miles.

WHO ORGANIZES THIS?

The Tower Porchfest is brought to you by the Tower Neighborhood Association and the Tower Porchfest Organizing Committee, countless musicians, Tower residents and volunteers.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

With more than 50+ annual grassroots events a year, the positive effects that a Porchfest can have on a community are being felt all over the country.  It’s a day of planning, collaboration, and generosity and for one Saturday the last four years it has taken over Tower District.

It all starts with a host opening up their property and coordinating activities and performances for the neighborhood to enjoy on their front lawn.  At Tower Porchfest every porch is different.  What makes our Porchfest unique is that some hosts might personally know everyone on their lineup and some might be meeting them for the first time the day of the event. It’s up to the host to plan their day.

Hosts and performers use our Facebook group Friends of Tower Porchfest to connect and discuss the scheduling of activities and performances.  It’s a very useful tool so hop on, sign up and put yourself in the Tower Porchfest Host/Performer melting pot!
